Law Degree?

We provide the Allen & Overy LPC at The College of Law in London, which all of our future trainees study before commencing their training contract with us.  This is a one year course (which is preceded by the GDL if you did not study law at university).  Our fee earners and training team have worked closely with The College of Law to develop a bespoke LPC that reflects the particular requirements of a legal career in the City.  The course features materials based on real examples of the transactions we do and enables you to familiarise yourself with our precedents, making it easier when you start at A&O.  The modules you will take focus on our core practice areas (Banking, Corporate and International Capital Markets) to ensure your time at Law School provides the best possible preparation for your training contract with us.

Taking the A&O LPC means you will also develop strong bonds with your new colleagues and build friendships from day one. Some of the initial classes will be shared with future trainees from other firms to enable you to expand your network. In addition, you will also attend lectures and seminars delivered by our lawyers, in our offices at One Bishops Square and 40 Bank Street, enabling you to build links beyond your trainee cohort and get a feel for how we approach our work.

From the moment you accept your offer with us, you are part of the team. We keep in regular contact with you not only throughout university and Law School but also if you take time out to travel or pursue further study, offering you support and keeping you up-to-date with what's happening at A&O.

For more details on financial support during your LPC, please see our Rewards and Benefits section.
