From the moment you join A&O, you’ll be spoilt for choice by the vast array of sporting activities on offer – the only question is, which one to try first! From football to sailing, hockey to softball, tennis to waterskiing, there really is something for everyone, regardless of whether you’re a seasoned pro or an enthusiastic amateur. Apart from being an ideal way to unwind, have some fun and try something new, the A&O sports groups are also a great place to meet fellow colleagues, make new friends or simply catch up on what’s new with other trainees!
A&O offers plenty of opportunities to indulge in the Arts and there are numerous music and dance groups that regularly give concerts and performances. With onsite music rooms, a dance studio and an auditorium, there’s really no excuse not to dust off your instrument or put on your dance shoes and get involved! If you’re still looking for more to do, you could take language lessons or participate in one of the many charity challenges that A&O supports.
As well as regular training and interesting talks there are also various opportunities to socialise with other staff. Whether it’s drinks in the bar, a barbeque on the roof terrace or the annual departmental ball, there’s plenty of opportunities to have fun and to get to know your colleagues better. The trainee social committee organises regular drinks and the annual trainee summer ball is the highlight of any trainee’s social calendar!
Since joining A&O, I’ve been able to continue doing the things I love as well as trying new ones, through which I’ve met some fantastic people and made some great friends. From my experience, A&O’s reputation as a firm that ‘works hard and plays harder’ certainly doesn’t disappoint!
